weakahoshi | Adventure 2- Bubbly Coral [Video]

[Shirahoshi's still pretty timid about the journal, but it's one of the few links she has to the majority of the goings on in the village. And she'd like to remedy that, if she can. So Luceti gets a treat today- the oversized Mermaid Princess herself, making a video post.

She fidgets with the journal for a few seconds after it begins recording, trying to frame herself up correctly, then realizes with a jolt that she's on air, as it were.]

It's already working! Oh. Um...

[She probably should have thought about what to say before she started recording. Too late now. Manners! She straightens up her back and stops stammering.]

I was wondering if anyone in the village has seen some bubbly coral. A few people have mentioned that there's an item shop that sometimes gets things from our home worlds. [Don't say "Um"!] B- bubbly coral looks a lot like normal coral, but the ones mermaids use for floating has kind of a button on it, usually on the bottom but sometimes on the side. If you find some, I'd really appreciate it if you could bring it to me out in the ocean. I- if it isn't too much trouble, that is...

[She looks like she'd like to say more, but she doesn't know what, and so cuts off the video feed.]

Ah, no, normally buildings stay broken unless you fix them. But here, in Luceti, they fix themselves or something. Pretty handy, if you ask me.

So it's just here in this island?

[That's still pretty neat. A fix-it island! Who knew such a thing could exist?]

What else happens here in Luceti?

Mmm, why don't you tell me first a bit about what you know about Luceti? I wouldn't want to bore you by saying things you already know.

Um... it's not on the Grand Line. Or even on the same plan-it. [Whatever that is.] And we can't leave when we want to, but sometimes we get sent home.

[You're making him curious as to how is your world now, if only because of how you sound as if you don't know what a planet is. But that may come later on.]

That's pretty much the basics of it as far as I know. Uhm, have you experienced an experiment yet?

Oh yeah. There was one where the surface of the water was in a different place every time.

[That was a scary day, Yoh. Luceti has a lot of places where there's standing water. Some cleaner than others.]

And... I changed sizes, too.

I think that happened with the doors too. I hope it didn't give you too many problems.

[He is pretty aware that there are a lot of places with a water surface, and how bad some may be. He hopes she didn't get those places though.]

But that's really basically the main things this place has that set it apart from everywhere else.

Uhm... Besides the buildings that fix themselves, trash also cleans itself, at least normally it does, so everything remains clean easily. That doesn't include the inside of our houses, at least not mine, but that may be just because they are inhabited and we're the ones supposed to do the cleaning of them.

... My house was pretty clean and tidy when I moved in despite there being no signs of having been used recently, after all.

[Ohh, she got those places, alright. She did a lot of scrubbing when she finally made it home to the ocean.]

That's still kind of nice, though. To not have to worry about some things.

[At least, she thinks it would be. She's never really had to worry about it anyway, being a princess.]

It is nice, at least it takes away some troubles we would have otherwise. Luceti doesn't have a dump for the trash and if we created one it would end affecting negatively the rest of the enclosure. With a place as small as this one it's fortunate to not have to worry about those things.

Though some people could argue that it takes away things to do.

I guess no matter where you go there's going to be good things and bad things.

What was your home like?

My home? Well... It's a very big world and I have been at several parts of it in the past years. It's... Not a bad place, but it's not a good place either. You can't find landscapes like the ones here easily, though there are still some left.

[He pauses for a moment as he thinks before chuckling a bit.]

It's a bit hard to describe it without relating to this place, but if you haven't even seen the village yet it just would be confusing for you.

No landscapes left? Oh no! W- was your home destroyed?

Ah, no, not like that. People have built a lot, that's all, there's more city than forest left, or coast, it's not strange for the city to only stop right when the sand of the beach starts. Mountains have been leveled down or pierced through to create tunnels so people reach places faster and even where there isn't city the forest has been altered to place roads for people to travel. Rivers are altered as well, their course is changed together with the rest of the land.

[It's supposed to be advancement but... No wonder she thought he meant it was destroyed, it sounds bad indeed.]

... Well, in a certain way it was destroyed but no one did it with that goal in mind or anything.
