Adventure 4- Winter Forest

[After her last post, Shirahoshi spent a few nights at Spock's house while Spock stayed with Lupin. She could tell the arrangement made Spock uncomfortable, though, and so she talked herself into being brave and found herself an apartment of her own. She's been enjoying the view from the eighth floor of Community Housing 3 ever since, though sometimes she has to remind herself that she can leave whenever she wants.

Today is one of those days.

Everything seemed to be back to normal- by Luceti standards, at any rate- and Shirahoshi wanted to explore a little. So she bundles herself up, inflates a new bubble from her coral, and floats down to the ground floor. The trees above make a kind of tinkling noise, covered as they are in icicles and snow. It draws her in, and she floats quietly through the forest, gaping in awe. It's unlike anything she's ever dreamed of. There are a few critters still skittering about in the snow, and whenever she hears or catches them out of the corner of her eye it makes her heart nearly stop. But after a few minutes she's grinning, because this is adventure and she can't seem to get enough of it.

Until sometime in the afternoon, when the shadows have begun to stretch in winter's pale sunlight. Her stomach growls, and she realizes with a start that she's very cold, very hungry, and very, distinctly, lost.]

[The video starts with a sniffle. She's not crying, for once. She's just been out in the cold for awhile.]

Um... D- does anyone know the woods really well? I think I'm lost...

[And Lee darts forward, eager to catch up.]

[She still has to dodge every once in awhile, but it's fun finding out how fast she can go in the air. Unfortunately, she wasn't kidding about needing to get stronger. Shirahoshi has very little stamina, and soon she's having a hard time breathing.]

If there are no people around you, then I should be able to find you with ease. Roaming around will confuse me. [Using her ultra cool senses right now.]

voice;

[weakahoshi]

[Can her ultra cool senses track something hovering above the ground?]

Um. Okay.

[She waits for a little bit, then starts shifting around.]

It's really cold...

I...believe I do. Are there more, similar bushes nearby?

[OOC: Sounds good! I was wondering what to do about that, myself.]

[Looking around (and possibly making Grune sick as a result), Shirahoshi does eventually find another bush that has red berries.

Sadly, anyone who lives on land would recognize that they are not the same type of berry bush.]

I will not make you wait long.

[She's already on the move, stopping only to try and sense where the girl was. It took a few minutes, but Ran Fan was able to find her way, dropping down from a nearby tree.]

[Rather than correct her, Grune only says:] Thank you, Shirahoshi. That is very helpful.

[And it is. Holly does not grow commonly in the wild here; she only knows of a few locations in Luceti's forest where it may be found. Holly in close proximity to winterberries is a rare enough combination that she should be able to find the lost mermaid reasonably quickly.

She picks up her journal and stands.]

Stay where you are. I hope you join you shortly.

[Too human and too fishy for his tastes, sadly! But the bubbly coral is interesting enough. He squints at it, uncertain.]

That's coral? It looks like a giant bubble to me. [If it works, though, it works.] You won't dry out on land?

[Shirahoshi shakes her head no.]

Maybe if I never get in water at all for a long time. But we have an island under the ocean where we live, so it isn't much different from here... Other than the trees. And the animals. And the sun...

[She pulls out the coral from... wherever it is she stashed it, and holds it on her palms for him to see.]

This is the coral. When I push the button, it makes bubbles like this one. There's a lot of it where I'm from, but I guess this is the only one that's ever shown up here in Luceti.

Do you spend a lot of time in the forest?

[Because that's pretty cool that you know every bush that's around...]

[Shirahoshi freezes where she is, swallowing the shriek which threatened to escape her lips.]

[She turns in slow motion, looking over her shoulder.

That shriek?

Yeah. It gets away this time.

THERE IS A SCARY MANBEAST IN THE FOREST OMG!!!]

D- did you come to kill me, Assassin-sama?

[Beginning to walk now....]

I do, yes. I often go for walks and search for flowers and berries.

[Though she doesn't exactly do that sort of thing often the way she is now....]

[And Ran Fan completely loses her cool. A-ASSASSIN?!?!?!]

No! I'm not- [Slipping off mask now.] My name is Ran Fan. I came here to help.

[Coral with buttons?]

I thought they were supposed to be rocks... [That's about as strange as the bubble!] An island under the ocean is still under the water, however, so isn't it different in that? There'd be no air!
