18+? Yes.
Other Character: Nope!
Character
Name: Princess Shirahoshi
Canon: One Piece
Canon point: Between Fishman Island and Reverie
Age: 16
History: One Piece Wiki
Personality: There is not a single hateful bone in Shirahoshi's body. She can forgive pretty literally anything, and this is both her strength and her weakness. She is easily frightened or scared, but when faced with truly dire circumstances, she finds an inner bravery that inspires others. Because she spent most of her life locked away in a tower, the world at large is a fascinating and strange place, and she faces it with a sense of curiosity and wonder. Emotionally, she's quite fragile- every feeling felt intensely brings her to tears, but this doesn't mean that she's generally sad or heartbroken. Quite the opposite, in fact! Shirahoshi tends to be cheery and adventurous in spite of her timid tendencies. She is trusting and kind, and more inclined to think the best of someone rather than suspicious of the worst. At times, this trust she has makes others think her quite dumb or naive, but in reality this is demonstrative of her willingness to sacrifice herself for the benefit of others. It pains her to think of other people getting hurt- especially if they would be hurt because of her- and so she takes the scrutiny on herself to spare others from the same. Shirahoshi can seem quite childlike at times, and in some ways calling her naive isn't far from the mark. For instance, once she snuck out of her tower and, faced with various cries of dismay from the people worried about her safety, she hurriedly told them not to worry, as she'd return in time for dinner. She asks a lot of questions as well, as she's trying to understand a world that is almost entirely new and foreign to her. She has strong convictions and sticks to them even when they're inconvenient for her, willing to set aside her own feelings in favor of holding to the ideals she learned from her mother.
Bullet Points:
* The one thing Shirahoshi is never afraid to do is speak out.
* Strong emotions cause tears. She isn't a wimp or even always sad, it's just how her body reacts to intense feelings.
* She loves everybody. The scary monster she's helping someone fight? She loves it, too.
* Just because she calls everything Lord or Lady doesn't mean her speech is overly formal. She's a teenager, and she talks like one.
* Use "watery" words and phrases as much as possible.
Species and Modifiers: Blade
Driver request: Any of these options are fine. I don't have a specific driver in mind but it's cool if she gets paired with someone.
Arts: Shirahoshi will have a water/sea themed Bitball to give to her Driver, and the following Support Arts: Absorb Damage (erects a barrier that absorbs fixed damage) and Draw Aggro (draws aggro from enemies in battle.
Special:
*Tier 1- Does a small amount of water damage to the target, heals Driver a small amount.
*Tier 2- Does medium amount of water damage to the target, heals Driver a medium amount.
*Tier 3- Does medium amount of water damage to all enemies, heals Driver a large amount, and heals the rest of the party a small amount.
*Tier 4- Does large amount of water damage to all enemies, heals Driver completely, and heals the rest of the party a medium amount.
Other skills: As a Blade, she'll be difficult to injure, and what injuries do occur will heal rapidly unless her Core Crystal becomes damaged. Being a Blade will also grant her the ability to summon a fairly powerful shield in order to protect others. She'll be attuned to the Water element, which will grant her some ability to manipulate water in various ways. As a mermaid, she'll come with a few extra buffs as well, such as increased speed, especially in water, the ability to breathe underwater, and the ability to speak with fish. Because of Shirahoshi's latent power, her ability to communicate with fish is not limited to fish of equal or smaller size than her type. Members of her species are also known to be at least ten times as strong as an average human, though whether a sized down Shirahoshi would live up to that particular designation is debatable.
XP Expenditure: None, I'll save her XP for now.
Sample: (200+ words in universe)
With shaking hands, Shirahoshi accepted the sphere of swirling water from her assigned Lady Driver, and looked with sad eyes at the poor Lord Ogre standing stunned before them. Lady Driver had been ruthless, hitting Lord Ogre with such speed and ferocity, Shirahoshi could hardly bear to watch. Lord Ogre had been just as brutal, of course- ripping and tearing at Lady Driver like one of the wild Lord Seakings, intent on killing its prey. She didn't know what to do. How could she turn away from Lady Driver and do nothing to stem her bleeding wounds, in favor of hurting the Lord Ogre? But there is power welling up through the bitball, she can feel it tingling against her skin, begging for a release. She could end this fight right now if she let it loose.
She closed her eyes and bit her lip, feeling hot tears drip over her cheeks. Why was she brought here, when there are so many others more fit to fight? They could have chosen any soldier and found a willing Blade.
A sudden sharp growl brought her back to the present. Lord Ogre had broken free of the stun and charged the now weaponless Lady Driver. With a high pitched shriek of alarm, Shirahoshi instinctively cried out for help, the bitball in her hands shining brighter and lifting high into the air in response. It spun like a whirlwind, scattering trails of water and energy as it enveloped both Lord Ogre and Lady Driver in a brilliant glow. In that moment time stood still, and Shirahoshi, in spite of having been given a hundred thousand moments to decide, still could not. Lord Ogre needed to be stopped, of this she was certain, in spite of the hurt it might feel. Lady Driver had deep wounds, and Shirahoshi wasn't sure if she'd be able to drag her to a doctor in time. She wished this power could do both- spend just enough of its essence to make the Lord Ogre end its attack, and give the rest to Lady Driver to heal her wounds and give her strength. The bitball pulsed, then, and time returned to normal. Shirahoshi covered her face, until she felt the spent water ball pressing itself into her hands once again. With a sniffle, she looked up, so that she could return it to Lady Driver, and gasped in shock. Lady Driver stood tall and unhurt before her, a look of grim satisfaction on her face as she patted some dirt from her pants. Lord Ogre was nowhere to be seen.
"Worried you didn't have it in you, Princess," Lady Driver said. She looked herself over, and sounded impressed. "But that's some nice work. Healed me right up! Hey, what's that look for?"
Shirahoshi sprung at her Driver, not even trying to diminish the sob in her voice as she called her name and gathered her up into a full bodied hug. "I'm so glad you're okay! You almost died because I couldn't decide what to do! I promise I'll do better next time!"
Lady Driver returned the hug with a longsuffering sigh. "It's alright, you came through in the end. Let's take a break so you can pull yourself back together, okay? We'll hit the training grounds again after lunch."
Shirahoshi nodded her assent, but instead of following Lady Driver off the field, she turned and went to the last place she'd seen the Lord Ogre and knelt herself down there. Feelings of guilt were slowly fading, being replaced by something stronger. "Thank you for giving your life to me, Lord Ogre. I'll do all I can to help this world find peace."
Questions: Nah.
